MAY 6, 2026 | NATIONAL NURSES DAY | NATIONAL SKILLED TRADES DAY | NATIONAL BEVERAGE DAY | NATIONAL CREPE SUZETTE DAY | INTERPRETER APPRECIATION DAY | NATIONAL BIKE TO SCHOOL DAY
Hi Everyone,
Today is about the hands-on heroes. We are celebrating the people who have the skills to solve the problems most of us wouldn't know where to start with.
Here is your May 6th "Expert" List:
The Frontline Heroes: It is National Nurses Day. This kicks off National Nurses Week, and there truly aren't enough "thank yous" in the world for the compassion and grit these professionals show every single day.
The Masters of Craft: Happy National Skilled Trades Day. From plumbers and electricians to masons and carpenters, today we celebrate the essential workers who build our world and keep the lights on.
The Voice of Connection: It is Interpreter Appreciation Day. Imagine trying to navigate a crisis or a contract without being able to understand the language. Interpreters bridge the gap and bring the world together—one word at a time.
The Thirst Quencher: It is National Beverage Day. Whether your go-to is a cold sparkling water, a craft soda, or a hot tea, today is your excuse to enjoy your favorite pour.
The Gourmet Treat: Feeling fancy? It’s National Crepe Suzette Day. This classic French dessert—with its caramelized sugar, butter, and orange juice sauce—is a masterpiece of culinary skill.
The May 6th Challenge: Find a person in a "skilled trade" or a nurse and tell them you appreciate what they do. Then, grab your favorite beverage and toast to the fact that it's Wednesday!

A Note on "Skilled Trades": We like to think of these emails as our own kind of "skilled trade." It takes a lot of work behind the scenes to make sure the "plumbing" of our communication is interesting and the "structure" is sound. Thanks for letting us build something new in your inbox!
One last thought to ponder: What is the one 'skilled trade' you wish you were better at? (I'm still trying to figure out how to use a power drill without making a mess!)
Best,
