FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
January 17 will soon be recognized as a special date annually.
In 2024, National Day Calendar was approached by Sylvan Heights Bird Park, a non-profit organization and home to one of the world's largest waterfowl conservation centers for the express purpose of adding a new International Day to the calendar. World Waterfowl Day is the result of those first interactions.
#WorldWaterfowlDay
Protecting waterfowl is crucial. While waterfowl are incredibly adaptable and thrive in almost any environment that is near water, there are causes of waterfowl decline that people are acutely unaware of.
By protecting waterfowl, we are not only safeguarding the natural world but also the habitats that many other living things rely on - including humans!
About the Founder of World Waterfowl Day
As an international center for waterfowl training and research, Sylvan Heights Bird Park created World Waterfowl Day to spread awareness, knowledge, and interest for waterfowl. The Park was founded in 1989 by world-renowned waterfowl expert Mike Lubbock and his wife, Ali.
