Hi Everyone,
If you thought the week was slowing down, think again! April 11th is packed with everything from retro vibes to heroic acts.
Here is your "Daily Deck" of celebrations:
- The Best Friend Honor: It’s National Pet Day! Whether they have fur, scales, or feathers, today is the day to give your pets an extra treat (and maybe post that photo you’ve been saving).
- The Retro Rewind: Dust off the wood-paneled station wagon! It’s National Eight-Track Tape Day. While we’ve moved on to streaming, today we honor the clunky, clicking beauty of 1970s audio tech.
- The Power of Harmony: Happy National Barbershop Quartet Day! It’s the anniversary of the founding of the SPEBSQSA (the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America). If you find yourself harmonizing in the shower today, now you know why!
- The "Deep" Celebration: It’s National Submarine Day, marking the day the U.S. Navy acquired its first modern submarine in 1900. A great day to watch The Hunt for Red October or just appreciate life above sea level.
- The Cheesy Dip: Get the skewers ready for National Cheese Fondue Day! Whether you’re dipping bread, apples, or veggies, it’s officially legal to have melted cheese for dinner.
The April 11th Challenge:
Wear Blue & Green to show your support for organ donation, and try to find a way to work the word "Submarine" into a conversation while eating melted cheese.
