Hi Everyone,
Happy April 17th! Today’s lineup is a wild mix of "tasty," "thoughtful," and "highly practical."
Here is the plan for today:
- The Party Classic: It is National Cheeseball Day. Whether it’s rolled in pecans or loaded with bacon, the cheeseball is the undisputed king of the retro appetizer tray. It's time for a comeback!
- The Mudbug Celebration: If you prefer your food with a little more kick, it’s National Crawfish Day. Whether you call them crawfish, crayfish, or mudbugs, today is the day for a backyard boil.
- The Deep Roots: Today is Ellis Island Family History Day. It’s a beautiful moment to look back at the 12 million people who passed through those doors in search of a new beginning. We all have a story—today is a great day to ask an elder about yours.
- The Spring Cleaning: On the practical side, it’s Clean Out Your Medicine Cabinet Day. Check those expiration dates! It’s the least glamorous holiday on the list, but your future self will thank you when you aren't reaching for 3-year-old cold medicine at 2 AM.
- The Syllable Challenge: It’s National Haiku Poetry Day. 5 syllables, 7 syllables, 5 syllables. That’s the formula for a perfect, tiny poem.
Our April 17th Haiku for you: Change is in the air, No more boring emails here, Cheese and crawfish, yum.
The April 17th Challenge: Toss one expired bottle of vitamins and write one 3-line poem. Bonus points if your poem is about a cheeseball.
To our followers: Whether you’ve been with us since the Ellis Island days or you just joined the party, we’re glad you’re here. Many of you have been noticing changes of late, please feel free to reply with your feedback any time.
