A Global Movement of Determination and Resilience
On August 18, 2025, the world celebrates the first ever World Never Give Up Day, a powerful global movement honoring the unyielding spirit of determination. More than just a date on the calendar, it's a call to action—urging people everywhere to reflect on their goals, reignite their passions, and tap into the inner strength that keeps us moving forward, no matter the obstacles.
The message of "Never Give Up" transcends borders, cultures, and languages. Whether you are chasing a lifelong dream, navigating life's toughest challenges, or simply making it through the day, persistence often matters more than talent or luck.
World Never Give Up Day reminds us that resilience is a universal trait—and that thriving through struggle is just as important as surviving it.
5 Ways to Celebrate World Never Give Up Day
- Make a list of short- and long-term goals. Prioritize the ones that mean the most to you—and commit to them!
- Recommit to a goal you didn't finish. Sometimes revisiting the past fuels the motivation to try again.
- Encourage others. Your support could be the final push someone needs to succeed.
- Bring people together. Host a workshop, lead a motivational talk, or join a community challenge to inspire resilience.
- Share your story. Post about a time you persevered despite challenges using #WorldNeverGiveUpDay to inspire others.
How to Get Involved
Whether your goal is monumental or modest, every step forward matters. Share your journey on social media, encourage those around you, and take time today to recommit to your dreams.
"This day is about more than survival — it's about thriving," says the National Day Calendar team. "It's about finding strength in the moments when giving up feels easier."
Let today be a reminder: You are stronger than you think. Never give up.
About the Founder
World Never Give Up Day was founded in 2019 by Alain Horoit, known as "Mr. Never Give Up." Inspired by his own personal journey marked by challenges and setbacks, Horoit created the day to honor the unwavering spirit of individuals who keep going when giving up feels easier.
In 2025, Horoit submitted the day to National Day Calendar in hopes of making it an annual celebration. The Registrar approved the observance to be celebrated every year on August 18. Recognizing the movement's rapid global growth, the name was changed from Never Give Up Day to World Never Give Up Day.
