Like a novel without a blurb

      a play without a program

      a musical without an overture

Just a poet, and some words

There may be beats

There may be rhymes

But there's not a lot of time

So pay attention!

There may be a poignant message

      or a witty pun

      or both!

And be wary – there may be some fucking swearing

But it's more likely…

There's just a poet

      with a poem

      who saw an opportunity

      and a microphone
